FIT, ALTERATIONS AND REFUNDS
If you need to make changes to the measurements saved in your Personal Profile, please contact Customer Care (customercare@lanieri.com). To better understand your needs, you will be asked to send 3 photos (front, side, back) wearing the Lanieri garment in a natural position. If you already know the exact changes you wish to make, please include them in your message. We will confirm once the data in your profile has been updated.
If you feel your garment needs minor adjustments, please email customercare@lanieri.com within 30 days from receiving your garment or from the day your order is ready for in-store collection, attaching at least 3 photos (front, side, back) with you wearing the garment you wish to have altered.
You can have the alterations made directly at Lanieri Stores or by your trusted tailor. We will refund you the full amount spent (up to €75) or double the amount in the form of a voucher to use for your next purchases. For more information, visit the Alterations and Refunds section.
Technological innovation is one of our priorities, which is why we constantly seek new digital tools to offer the best possible representation of our fabrics. Each fabric is accompanied by a detailed description. However, due to the digital output of web images and differences in screen lighting settings, the way our products appear on the website may not exactly match reality. For this reason, we offer the possibility to order fabric samples before finalising the purchase of your desired garment, so that you can touch the quality and observe the characteristics of the fabrics first-hand.
At this time, a garment cannot be returned purely due to a customer’s personal preference. To check the return conditions and policy, please refer to the Alterations and Refunds section. For further assistance, contact Customer Care (customercare@lanieri.com).
After the first wash, the fabric of shirts and polo shirts may shrink slightly, to a variable extent from fabric to fabric. In most cases, this does not compromise the fit of the garment, but rather helps the fabric and structure of the garment to settle. We recommend washing the garment at least once before assessing the final fit.
If you are not completely satisfied with your order, you may request a full refund in accordance with our withdrawal policy. Please check the requirements and follow the instructions in the Alterations and Refunds section, contacting Customer Care in advance (customercare@lanieri.com).

Wool fabrics are suitable even for warmer seasons thanks to the temperature-regulating properties of their fibres. To discover which fabrics are most suitable for the summer season, browse the dedicated section or apply the “Season: Spring/Summer” filter.
Each fabric has its own characteristics, and factors such as the type of fibre, fineness or processing technique can make a fabric particularly valuable and therefore more expensive than others.
Fineness: indicates the average diameter of the fibre used for the yarn. The higher the value, the finer and more precious the fibre. Fabrics with high fineness maybe particularly delicate and require more attention and care.
Wool fineness is commonly indicated using a “super” grading system, with values ranging from 100’s to 250’s:
- 100’s – 140’s: durable wools, ideal for tailoring men’s suits for everyday use
- > 150’s: wools used for extremely fine, high-quality fabrics with an exceptionally soft hand
- > 160’s: ultra-fine wools, ideal for creating lightweight and extremely luxurious fabrics, which, however, require special care due to their delicate nature.
Fineness therefore determines the prestige and use of a wool, but cannot be considered the sole indicator of quality. The finer the wool, the softer and more exclusive it will be, but the quality of the fabric also depends on the type of raw materials and processing techniques.
Weight: refers to the weight per metre of fabric. So-called “four-season” suits – suitable from autumn through spring – are made with fabrics weighing between 240 and 270 g/m. Wool fabrics suitable for summer have a weight below 240 g/m, while those strictly for winter start from 270 g/m.
It is important to remember that this measurement system only applies to wool fabrics. A linen fabric, for example, can weigh up to 390 g/m, but the breathability and durability of its fibres still make it one of the best summer fabrics.
Warmth: indicates the level of warmth a fabric can offer. There are fabrics that are very heavy in terms of g/m but still cool and ideal for summer (e.g. linen), and other fabrics that are lightweight but very warm (e.g. cashmere). “Warmth” is therefore an additional indication and should be considered in close relation to “weight”.
Prestige: indicates the exclusivity of a fabric, by evaluating parameters such as fineness, the type of fibres and reputation of the textile brand.
Jacket: half-canvas construction, meaning a canvas cloth is stitched between the fabric and the lining, extending from the shoulder down to below the chest, allowing the fabric to perfectly maintain the shape of the jacket. The shoulders are hand-crafted with a light padding inserted at the sleeve attachment point, called the roll, which gives roundness and greater structure to the upper part of the garment. Configurable in six different variants with full or partial lining.
Blazer: completely unstructured construction, meaning it has no shoulder pads, padding stitching or internal lining, making the garment particularly lightweight and comfortable. The shoulders are “shirt-style”, so called because, as with shirts, the sleeve fabric is inserted underneath the shoulder, giving the upper part of the blazer a more comfortable fit that follows the natural shape of the shoulders. Configurable in the three most classic styles.
Some fabrics in the collection, due to specific properties, cannot be used to tailor trousers, and therefore cannot be used for two-piece suits.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Lanieri garments are Made to Measure using fine fabrics and yarns. We recommend taking utmost care during cleaning and maintenance, strictly following the provided instructions and avoiding aggressive detergents and washing methods, in order to preserve the quality of the garments.
Suits, jackets, blazers, coats, waistcoats, overshirts, trousers, chinos, jogger pants and knitwear: professional dry cleaning with a delicate cycle is recommended. Do not bleach. Do not tumble dry. Iron at a maximum temperature of 110°C without steam.
100% cotton shirts and polo shirts: home wash by hand or machine wash with a normal cycle at a maximum temperature of 30°C and low spin (400 rpm) is allowed. Do not bleach. Tumble drying (spin cycle) is allowed. Iron at a maximum temperature of 110°C without steam.
Be sure to remove the collar stays from the shirt before washing.
Whenever possible, brush your garment for 30 seconds using a brush with natural bristles, brushing slowly from top to bottom.
When you’re not wearing the jacket, hang it on a contoured hanger, preferably made of cedar wood. The wood will help maintain the shape of the garment by supporting the shoulder structure, absorb moisture from the fabric and keep moths away.
Each garment should not be worn more than 2 or 3 times per week. Allowing some rest time helps the fibres to breathe and smooth out minor creases accumulated throughout the day.
Use a garment bag to store your made-to-measure garments during business or leisure trips.
Wash your shirt before wearing it for the first time, then wash it immediately after each use to prevent stains from setting into the fibres for too long. This will help prevent premature yellowing of the fabric.
Before each wash, gently pre-treat exposed areas such as cuffs and collars with Marseille soap.
Once ironed, store your shirt in a wardrobe, preferably on a hanger, to avoid ruining the fold.
