A story that started back in the 1970s
The story of Drago Wool Mill is a typically Italian one, made up of craftsmanship expertise, entrepreneurial vision and a bond with the territory. Founded by Umberto and Laura Drago in 1973 in Lessona, Biella, in the heart of one of the most important textile districts in the world, the company has been able to update its offerings through technological innovation, high quality standards and the updating of its style codes.
Today Drago is a fully integrated wool mill: it all starts with a curated selection of the best raw materials to produce in-house over 1.7 million meters of fabric exported worldwide. In addition to a strong and established presence in the Italian market, Drago fabrics are valued by international fashion houses, especially in Japan, Korea and the United States.
The origins of excellence
In its 50-year history, Drago boasts high levels of quality based on a curated selection of raw materials, including the finest wools from Australia and New Zealand. The fineness of the fabrics has always characterized the production: from Super 130’s to the 210’s – the most refined and exclusive used for tailored and ceremonial garments – to blends made with Mongolian White cashmere, which can guarantee a softness of touch and a lightness of weight that makes the fit extremely comfortable and up-to-date, in line with the trends of the modern soft tailoring. There is also a distinctive selection of linen and silk fabrics.
Textures of quality
A decade’s knowledge of combed spinning techniques for extra-fine wool and the cutting-edge innovation of the production has enabled designers to work with a selection of sophisticated and innovative yarns, key ingredients for playing with textures, patterns and designs. Exclusive yarns, organzines, bouclines, and moulinés are masterfully combined season after season to create collections with timeless style.
