Spring is on its way and it’s time to start looking ahead to see what’s set to be on top once the temperatures pick up. From technical tailoring to wide-leg trousers, this is a first look at the 5 trends we expect to hit hard for this Spring/Summer season.
1. All white long

This season saw the colour spectrum widen further (as we’ll see at n°4), but an all-white look seems to be everywhere, proving monochromatic ensembles are far and away S/S 16’s key colour. So wear a white suit, and wear it in layers mixed with super-light grays and sharp cuts of black for a classic weekend look.
2. The ’50s are back

High-waisted pleated trousers, textured bowling shirts and bomber jackets. This look brought a shot of James Dean in every man’s wardrobe. The 50s bomber jackets are versatile for casual days and keep looks cool and comfortable. Try them in dark hues and match them with tone on tone tailored trousers and casual shoes.
3. Bigger than big

Maybe because of customers’ recent rejection of formality and embrace of comfort, brands have begun to reconsider suiting’s most established features. That’s why spring menswear included elegantly cut suits crafted from ultra lightweight fabrics that retained the elegance of tailoring but wedded it to ease. So menswear’s big loosening up continues and particularly capacious cuts are offered up as the perfect way to ensure your body stay aired during summer’s heat. Put simply, aim for a pair of baggy trousers, for exemple, that sit somewhere between allowing your legs to breathe and do not make you look like a circus worker.
4.Style from the Block

This spring it’s all about color-blocking. Contrast is key when combining colours, to sustain a more polished attire. Our favorite versions pair three hyper-saturated hues in striking combinations to make one sharp look. A sharp cut is essential.
5. Chinoiserie

There are lots of shout-outs to China in SS collections. Pyjama trousers, silk shirts and even full suits cut from Chinoiserie (patterns that are influenced by Eastern elements such as dragons, animals and flowers). Asiatic prints on a series of bold, silk baseball, foulard and bomber jackets.
